Everyone deserves dignity, equal rights, and a fair chance to build a good life. That is my starting point as your county commissioner.
You belong here, whatever your race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, faith, income, or place of birth. You should not have to hide who you are or know the right people to be heard by your government.
I welcome people with different backgrounds and views. I oppose racism, antisemitism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and discrimination against people with disabilities. Welcoming people does not mean accepting harassment, threats, or efforts to deny someone else’s rights.

Reproductive freedom
I support safe, legal abortion and full access to birth control and reproductive health care. Decisions about pregnancy belong to the person who is pregnant. Everyone deserves privacy, clear information, and respectful care.
Equal pay and economic fairness
Women deserve equal pay for equal work. Fair pay and opportunity matter for everyone. As a county employer, we must pay fairly, look for pay gaps, and fix them when we find them.
My record: In 2023, the Board adopted updated Personnel Rules through Order #03-23-080. The rules require pay-equity checks when making pay decisions for promotions, transfers, changes in job duties, and temporary higher-level work. Comparable jobs must have a pay schedule that can be applied fairly.
Income should not decide whether someone can take part in public life. I support efforts to reduce barriers to stable housing, transportation, child care, and essential services. Working families, caregivers, and people on fixed incomes deserve a voice.

Racial justice and respect for Tribal communities
People of color deserve equal treatment, safety, and a meaningful voice in government. When policies or practices lead to unfair treatment or exclusion, we should examine the evidence and correct the problem.
Our Tribal neighbors are sovereign governments and important partners. We should listen, respect their histories and ties to the land, and build partnerships that respect their right to govern themselves.
LGBTQIA+ rights and belonging
No one should face discrimination because of who they are or whom they love. LGBTQIA+ people deserve equal access to jobs, housing, health care, and every county service.
That includes transgender and nonbinary people. Everyone deserves respect and a place in community life without intimidation. Young people should know they belong, and older LGBTQIA+ residents deserve dignity, connection, and care.

Disability rights and access
People with disabilities deserve to take part fully in public life. That means accessible buildings, sidewalks, transportation, public meetings, websites, and information.
We should listen to people with disabilities about the barriers they face. County services should respect their choices and different communication and access needs. Accessibility should be part of our plans from the beginning.
Safety and support for survivors
Domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and harassment are never acceptable. I voted for county resolutions recognizing Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I will keep supporting prevention, accountability, and services for survivors.
Women face particular risks, and survivors of every gender deserve to be taken seriously. Everyone should be able to seek help, whatever their income, language, disability, or identity.

Religious freedom
People should be free to practice their faith, change their beliefs, or have no religious affiliation. County government should serve everyone fairly without favoring one faith.
I oppose antisemitism, anti-Muslim hatred, and discrimination against any religious community. Freedom of belief and equal treatment belong together.
Immigrant inclusion and language access
Immigrants are part of our community. Where someone was born, the language they speak, or their accent should never be a reason to dismiss their concerns or treat them without dignity.
People need clear information about county services and ways to take part. I support practical language access so more residents can ask questions, understand decisions, and be heard.

Opportunity across generations and communities
Young people deserve access to learning, safety, and opportunities to shape their future. Older adults deserve independence, connection, and respect.
People experiencing homelessness deserve dignity and practical help. Rural residents deserve a voice alongside those in larger communities. We should pay attention to people who face the greatest barriers to being heard.
Constitutional equality
I support the Equal Rights Amendment without reservation. Women deserve clear, equal protection in the U.S. Constitution. My commitment also extends to everyone whose rights or opportunities are threatened by discrimination.

My commitment to you
I share the core goals of the National Organization for Women. Those commitments are part of a broader principle: everyone belongs, and government should treat people fairly.
I will listen, ask who is being left out, and consider how county decisions affect people with different needs. I will speak against discrimination and work toward services and public meetings that more people can use and attend.
If you have a question about my priorities or my record, contact me directly. I will give you a straight answer.
