Our Purpose
Friends of Casey Miller exists to support Casey Miller’s candidacy through a campaign that is constructive, truthful, transparent, inclusive, and focused on public service.

Respect and Human Dignity
We will treat people with dignity, including people we strongly disagree with.
We will not use humiliation, demeaning language, dehumanization, or personal degradation as a campaign strategy.
Political disagreement does not require personal contempt.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We value diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We respect people across differences in race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, economic circumstances, political belief, and lived experience.
That includes respect for LGBTQ+ people and communities.
Positive, Factual Campaigning
This is intended to be a positive campaign.
That does not mean avoiding hard facts or legitimate criticism. We may discuss public records, decisions, votes, statements, policies, and conduct when they are relevant to public service.
We will not distort facts, manufacture outrage, use anonymous attack tactics, or make personal degradation part of our strategy.
Accountable Criticism
We believe there is a difference between accountability and degradation.
When we criticize a public decision, record, policy, statement, or action, we will try to make that criticism factual, relevant, sourced, and clearly attributable.
We will distinguish fact from opinion or allegation.
Truthfulness and Authentic Communication
We will not knowingly distribute false or deceptive information.
We will not use fake identities, fabricated personas, or campaign-directed activity disguised as independent advocacy.
Technology, including artificial intelligence, may help with research, writing, design, and analysis. People remain responsible for what the campaign publishes.
Democratic Participation and Trustworthy Elections
We support democratic participation, accessible voting, accurate election information, transparent election administration, secure and accurate vote counting, and lawful ways to resolve disputes.
Public trust depends on reliable information and transparent processes.

Campaign Contributions Do Not Purchase Influence
A contribution, endorsement, volunteer service, or other support does not buy Casey Miller’s vote, policy position, appointment decision, official action, or preferential treatment.
Campaign support and government decision-making remain separate.
Lawful and Accountable Campaigning
Friends of Casey Miller will follow applicable campaign-finance, election, reporting, and political-communication requirements.
When a legal or compliance question is unclear, the campaign will seek appropriate guidance.
Campaign and Government Remain Separate
Being involved with Friends of Casey Miller does not create authority within Lincoln County government.
Campaign work and governmental work will remain separate, including the use of public employees, public time, and public resources.
Support, Endorsement and Official Participation Are Different
Anyone may support Casey Miller.
An endorsement does not automatically make someone a campaign manager, spokesperson, adviser, agent, or representative.
Official campaign roles are assigned, not assumed.
Transparency and Reasonable Privacy
We will be truthful about whether an activity is campaign-directed.
People with campaign authority will have defined responsibilities and be accountable for their work.
At the same time, volunteers may have legitimate reasons for wanting personal privacy. Reasonable privacy can be respected when it does not conflict with the law, required disclosure, or campaign accountability.
Personal Expression Remains Personal
Campaign participants do not give up their own political views or personal freedom of expression.
A person’s personal social-media activity or support for another candidate does not automatically represent Friends of Casey Miller.
When someone is acting officially for the campaign, these standards apply.
Supporting Other Candidates
Campaign participants may support or volunteer for other candidates.
When acting for Friends of Casey Miller, they should not imply that Casey Miller is part of a slate, joint ticket, or coordinated campaign unless that relationship has actually been established.

Different Perspectives Are Welcome
No one is automatically the smartest person in the room.
We value professional expertise, lived experience, common sense, creativity, disagreement, and the willingness to reconsider decisions when better information becomes available.
People working with the campaign are encouraged to raise concerns and tell Casey when they think he is making a mistake.
Consensus-Seeking, Candidate-Accountable
Friends of Casey Miller seeks broad participation, honest feedback, and consensus where reasonably possible.
Consensus does not require everyone to agree.
Casey Miller retains final responsibility for campaign values, positions, strategy, major communications, significant expenditures, official roles, and other matters that have not been delegated.
Accountability, Learning and Repair
People make mistakes. Casey does too.
When something goes wrong, the goal is to understand what happened, correct what can reasonably be corrected, learn from it, and improve how the campaign operates.
Clear Authority
Money, friendship, technical access, creative work, expertise, or long service do not automatically create authority to speak for or bind Friends of Casey Miller.
Campaign authority is assigned deliberately.
Campaign Assets and Continuity
Where practical, campaign-specific domains, websites, accounts, files, branding, and other important assets should be owned or controlled by Casey Miller or Friends of Casey Miller.
People may receive access needed for their roles, but no critical campaign function should depend unnecessarily on one person’s private account or continued participation.
Official Campaign Materials
The Friends of Casey Miller campaign website is the primary home for official campaign values, statements, branding, and downloadable campaign materials.
Supporters are free to create and share their own political speech.
Independent material should not be assumed to be an official campaign communication unless Friends of Casey Miller has approved or adopted it.
Participation Is Voluntary
Anyone may support Casey Miller without formally joining the campaign.
If someone decides these values or expectations are not a good fit for an official role, they may step away without erasing the value of what they have already contributed.
